I am new to automotive strobist photography and have always been obsessed with strobed vehicle imagery. On Sunday I had the opportunity to go to a Vossen Wheels shoot with a photog that I really admire and look up to in NYC. I learned quite the bit from watching him work his magic and was eager to get home and try out my newly acquired knowledge. So Yesterday and today I have been out practicing on my 2 vehicles. Its crazy how from one day to the next how one can learn so much;)

This image was shot with my sigma 35 Art 1.4 and a Lee cpl to handle the terrible black reflections and was lit with one Einstein and is comprised of 8 images.

I love the 2nd shot, reminds me of a movie set. The first on seems to have some conflicting lines.

I think they look great Joey. I approach my automotive shoots the same way as you with one strobe, multiple exposures, merge in PS.

I don't know if you did this in the 1st photo or not but I tend to use the cpl for one side of a black vehicle to reduce the reflections and then turn the cpl again for the other side, then merge those as well. Helps clean the blacks a bit more.

I'm Preston & I pretend to know what I'm doing but I really just wing it.

All the above images are taken with one Einstein and walked around lighting different parts of the vehicles and then combined images in post to get the achieved look of the vehicle. You can look at my flickr I have BTS shots up.
