Interesting. Would like to see how it performed there.

Ultimately I preferred the color and sharpness and depth of field of the Canon shots, even without knowing they were the Canon shots. A lot of that has to do with the lens and the settings used, but it just seemed like the Canon shots with, whatever settings used, a deeper depth of field, were more pleasing to me.

The exposure of the Nikon was definitely better. I was surprised how dark the Canon tried to make it, every time.

Marry the two? Shoot the Canon and expose to the right? :P

Well many of the files were on Aperture priority and then the rest left to the camera. So it is what the camera wanted to do.

I'd agree with your thoughts though.

Was the 150-600 used on the 7d? Everything I see about the Tamron is for birds. I am almost tempted to create a "lens sample thread" for this lens that does not allow birding photos.

I don't have any telephoto options and am going to be purchasing one soon so I am very interested.

I didn't actually use it. Fellow photographer and journalist did. He uses a 60D. I could probably get some sample files.

I dont necessarily need sample files. More just looking to hear how he liked it for motorsports. Maybe compare it to what lenses he usually shoots with (100-400, 300 f4, 400 5.6, etc...) and how he thought it handled tracking as that is the biggest complaints from birders. Thanks!

He liked it. Going from a 70-300 so a pretty big upgrade for him.

As with anyone probably best to rent and test yourself. See if it meets your needs.
