Me and the girlfriend are going to the Caribbean in a couple of weeks!
Turks & Caicos to be more specific :)
(Not trying to rub it in to anyones face ;) )

As always when I travel..I look at my Camera bag(s)..and wish that I could decide what lenses and accessories/gear to bring...

We are Traveling from Stockholm, via Amsterdam (a few hours to explore the City here) to Atlanta (only basically going to the hotel, sleeping and getting on the plane again), then to Turks & Caicos..

On the way back we have almost 24 hours in New York as well :)

So, as for body, my 5DMKIII is the given choice.
But what lenses?
This is what is in my camera bags to choose from:

Canon EF 17-40/4L USM
Canon EF 24-70/2.8L USM
Canon EF 50/1.4 USM
Canon EF 70-200/2.8L IS USM II
Canon EF 85/1.8 USM
Canon EF 100/2,8 USM Macro

So, what lenses would you bring, and why?

I won't bring any tripod, but will bring my Gorillapod to have some kind of support at least!

I will also bring a ND filter and a Circular Polarizing Filter...

(And also a Compact camera with underwater housing...)

I went to the Caribbean like 1-2 years ago (I still had my Sony) and this is what I brought:
-The body (of course)
-Sony 16-50mm f/2.8
-Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 II
-Sigma 90mm f/2.8 Macro
-Tamron 70-300mm USD
-Sony 50mm f/1.4

The lens I used the most was the 16-50mm (equivalent to the 24-70mm) and then the 12-24mm. The macro wasn't very useful for me, because where I went weren't so many insects/crabs to take photos, but I saw a chinese guy who took photos of a red crab with a 100mm and it was great.

From your equipment I would take:
-Canon 50mm f/1.4
-Canon 17-40mm f/4
-Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 or the 70-200mm L.

Hope it helps :)

The times we were in the Caribbean, I was surprised at the number of hummingbirds that were around. Plus we had some small song birds that ate sugar out of our hands at one villa we rented. Evidently, this practice had been established a long time ago by the owners. They encouraged us to keep it up while we were there for 10 days.

I would take lenses that could capture events such as that, along with the amazing sunsets which I'm sure are already on your list.

Sorry for the late response . I guess this is the only one I have uploaded on Flickr, I'll try to upload more later. It was taken in the Bahamas with a Sony A77 I used to have:
