This morning I was trying to take a "bracketed" photo and my 7D would shoe a err 30 which is the shutter error. Tonight I took the grip off installed a battery and took severe shots and no err 30. Could the grip be sending this error code or not.

rrblint Listen! .... do you smell something? More info | Yep, it could be caused by the grip, particularly if it's an after-market model. What kind is it? Mark

rrblint Listen! .... do you smell something? More info | It still could be causing the problem. Try it without the grip for a while and see if the error returns. Then try cleaning the contacts on the grip with a small amount of rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth. While you're at it, you may as well clean the contacts on the camera too. Hopefully that will clear up the problem. Mark

rrblint Listen! .... do you smell something? More info | Okay, then the fault is with the camera body. So it's good that you're sending it in. Hope that you get it back soon. Mark

Mar 21, 2014 14:36 | #10 Rick you didn't say if it was a OEM Canon grip, but I have to say I have had little to no luck with 3rd party groups with my Canon equipment. I tried them with my 5D, 7D and my 5d Mk III. I just sucked it up and get the one from Canon. Ricky L. Jones
