1DX is the end all say all cameras. Best current IQ out of any canon camera. Best AF, best at everything including emptying your wallet.

I bought a 1DX to replace my Mark IV and soon missed the extra reach of the 1.3X factor. I would have had to buy some really expensive lenses to make up the difference. So I sold the 1DX and picked up a good used Mark IV and could not be happier. For the action sports I do, I did not see a major difference in AF or resolution.

Do you do any shooting under field lights? I'm worried what the high ISO is going to look like with my 300mm F4.0 and my 400mm F5.6 when I have to push it to get my shutter speed up to freeze baseball and football players.

If you are reach-limited, the 18mpx 1.3 crop might be a better option, minus the 1 stop worse ISO. There is a reason to consider the 1D4, but generally speaking, it certainly seems that the 1DX is the one to own.

I just purchased a 1Dx to upgrade from my 7D, after using it for a couple events I can honestly say get the 1Dx it utterly embarrasses my 7D in every way. You will be completely happy with the 1Dx set it up well and you'll never use another camera ever again :)

I've owned 2 1DmkIV and now have 2 1Dx. I shoot mostly sports, but get to stick in some wildlife from time to time. The 1Dx is a superior camera in every way. Higher frame rate, dramatically better autofocus in low light (once you figure out which options work for you), and much better ISO performance in low light. If you're shooting under the lights and with slower lenses, you'll be much happier with the 1Dx.

If budget is the issue, and you're shooting primarily in the broad daylight, I doubt you'll notice much difference.

That said, I won't be giving up by 1Dx anytime soon.

Low light is a huge factor since as of today I have three leagues I'm going to be doing action photos for and most under the lights. Im going to pull the trigger on a 1DX I guess just got to find one. I didn't realize the MKIV was a crop sensor till someone mentioned it here, so I went ahead and ordered a MKIV used from B and H as well. Just sent the 7D off today for a tune up so I'll sell it when I get it back.

Lol, wish I had won the lottery. No I've been shooting every gig I can get my hands on and saving every penny to put back into equipment for my business. Really wanted to wait till I got to NAB in Apr before I pulled the trigger but this just kind of happened so time dictated my spending. This is just photo stuff you should see what I spend on video later this year. Lol

All of my shooting is in good light, daylight so high ISO was not a factor for me. If you are looking for a 1DX, Buckeye1 has a new one for sale on FM http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1273167 (external link).

Ty for the kind words, I really need To clean my Flickr up. My job gives me access that a lot don't have. Editing video and teaching weapons for my daily job leads to some interesting things. My website is almost done hope to have it finished and public next week.
