How can I protect my G2 while snorkeling and other weather related situations?

Thanks!

Mike

Well... I hope it helped :D

Those things are expensive... I was thinking of getting one a while ago, but when I looked into the price... I stopped thinking about it. Heh.

look for ewa-marine uw housings, they are made of plastic (not metal like ikelite) but with optical glass, price approx 119-150$

I would second the EWA product. B&H Photo Video has them (a few other online sites as well, but I have dealt with B&H in the past). The one for the G2 is the same as the one for the G1 and is $144.95 (US). Here is the link if you are interested... http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ails&Q=&sku=247200&is=REG (external link)

I am still kicking around the idea of getting one myself. Sometimes it is hard to convince the wife that I "need" all these camera accessories! :)

The other day I bought a camera backpack. When my wife complained about the price I told her it was less than the price of her purse. That did the trick!

The first picture I took with my new g2 was the wife walking down the street with a suitcase after I brought a 1400 dollar(au) camera home.

I'd personally love it if the price of the Ikelite housings ever cost less than 2 new cameras.

In the meantime, if you'd expect to be doing a decent amount of underwater/weather stuff, I actually tend to recommend people look into buying a lower model Canon (like the A70?) for which Canon makes their own relatively affordable waterproof housings that can go to 130 feet or so.

See Chapter 16 (the Line-Up) at the following:

If you really want one that's top-notch for the G2 and have $750:

...though it's sold for $600 via leisurepro.com:

Best new camera prices tend to be buydig.com.
