I'd go for the 5Dc as well. It's definitely usable at 1600, but I often get banding at 3200.

Just my 2p!
I still have my 5Dc and, at reasonable ISO, I cannot fault it, and the IQ on prints is not shamed by my 1DX. Technically newer bodies produce better images but I just love the files this camera produces. They have a very pleasing quality which means less editing!
I am not saying it is the equal of the current crop of full frame Canon cameras - it simply isn't, but you may be very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the prints you can bet off it!

I love the IQ from the 5D. I just don't trust the outer AF points with fast glass though, and the noise at ISO1600 is worse than newer APS-C bodies with ISO3200 being pretty dreadful.

Noise was the 5Dc's strong point when it was introduced - but that was a while ago and is no longer the case! Though the noise is nicer - there is more of it! As to the AF points, I find the outer focus points OK'ish but the center point will AF in lower light then my (just sold) 1D Mk4 - not too bad for a camera that is available at such low prices.

The 1D4 had less than stellar low light AF performance unfortunately. It was well known to be slightly worse than the 5D2 which AFAIK wasn't any better than the 5D.
