Sorry, I never used the DPP, it has always been the LightRoom.

To correct what lens issues? Out of all of the shots that you've posted in the thread thus far, one is slightly mis-focused and all of the rest look just fine. If you're talking about auto-correcting barrel/pincushion and/or vignetting, I wouldn't worry about it too much - by all means, look for a solution (I can't help either, as I also use LR), but don't let that stop you from happily using your lens in the meantime.

i usually shoot cereal boxes, one in each corner and center, i use fireplace and tripod. use fireplace to mount boxes.mostly testing corner to corner sharpness though.

My lens purchase is eligible for square-trade warranty. Wondering if warranty purchase worth it considering my copy seems to be fine. Did some tests taking pics of tree line. They seemed fine to me except extreme right corners/edge at 17mm. It could be user error in terms of staying level with tree line.
