This Tamron lens and its low price offer an advantage for those people who live in a world where people do not purchase for you the supposedly superior and expensive equipment they want you to buy. The Tamron 18-200mm lens may be a lightweight unit, but its low price leaves additional weight in your wallet from the money you do not spend.

Just for future reference, there is a sticky in the lens forum with a table of all available lenses for Canon cameras. It's a very handy reference. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
