Qualitywise, you have some absolutely gorgeous magazine-cover quality photos, but they are mixed with a number of bad ones. I'd suggest to only show the best photos as you are always judged by your worst photo.

Website on its own is a bit dated and seemed like I saw similar sites in the 90s. I think you should change it a bit to look more modern

Agree with both. No SEO at all and the site has a "old school" (1990's) feel.

Yeah, Didn't look at the SEO bit, but I browsed just to get a feel.

1) I like how you make it easy to navigate. the buttons are visible and I can easily click to the next /previous image. Site loads quick and I like that. Check you "Blog" link its broken ..and not serving normal 404. Im a fan of putting your best images first, and you're getting that mostly right [on the landing] pg. -petpeeve - hose few landscape images hit me light clothes line, seem out of place when surrounded by the lovely portraits. I'd keep it to the portraits on the home pg.

Good start though!

My thoughts: What are you trying to promote? A business? There is no mention of you offering your services (About Link was broken and Contact is a simple e-mail form).

You have 2 landscape images on your main page gallery, but no landscape gallery in the gallery drop down. If that is not a service that you intend to provide, then don't post the landscape images.

Edit: Must have been my internet, but the about page came us the second time I clicked on it. So please strike my comments about not knowing the intent of your site... That being said, however, something on the main page would be helpful. (For customers and SEO alike)

Frankly, when people ask me if they can see my photos, instead of sending them to Facebook, where there are just bunch of albums, I can direct them to my website for them to get an idea.
For the main page, I put a few landscape photos simply because they are pretty. :)
I'm not expecting to generate any income from that, but people like pretty.

Forgive the bluntness, but it seems you don't really know what the website is for. So what factors do we measure it against to gauge it's success.

Your pictures are nice and it's easy to navigate, Flickr would have given that for free.

Sorry, but I really hate that background.

Your front page images show such a mix of images both in quality and genre. Many of them bare no relation to the services you appear to be trying to sell.

Where you could have a logo or just simple text in a nice font with your name looks like a bad school project.

The contact page is horrible.

Your blog doesn't even match the style of the rest of your site and looks tacked on as an afterthought.

Bottom line, you are obviously a talented photographer, but your website is working against you and not for you.

The first thing I read on a photo portfolio website is their "about" page. I found yours to be rather forced and a bit clique at times. It's a bit odd that you mention "viewfinder". Try writing it again to be simple and don't try to be so forced.

First, it's much better than mine :) That being said, here's my two cents:
- Please don't use the "papyrus" font for your logo! It's way overused and most people in graphic design will tell you it immediately marks you as an amateur/unprofessional. Check out dafont.com and find something more unique.
- Agree that your mix of pictures has some really wow-factor shots and some more "meh" ones. Get one or two people who aren't attached/invested to go through them and tell you which ones grab them.
- Your list of services and your front-page pictures don't match up. I would get rid of any shots that don't support the kind of business you're going after. Share those on your flickr stream or somewhere else, but not on your professional site if it's not something you are seeking clients for.

Like I said, it's better than mine, so take it with a grain of salt :) Good luck!

Pull out any image that isn't "awesome". I would have a separate category for pricing information rather than putting it under "about". No one is going to look in "about" for pricing. Leave "about" to say something about yourself.
