lack of joystick is the biggest annoyance of the 6D. Being too heavy is the biggest of the 5D3..... there is no perfect world, and when the 5D4 comes out, I'll snatch up one of those outdated 5D3's  My only issue then will be which to keep as a second body.

Canon rumors speculates that a body similiar to the 5D3 will be released in a high MP type camera (30MP+ I assume) priced more than a 5D3.

IF canon really did release a 5D style body w/ high MP then I suspect the 5D3 used market will drop for all the current 5d3 owners jumping ship.

Not this here owner... I am not missing Mp or AF or high ISO.... :D

What I am missing is something like the Sigma 120-300 but that will take a while...

I have my "set" button programmed for FEC. Just push it and you can see where your settings are at through the viewfinder and adjust from there.

Huh? Am I missing something? I don't have my camera as I'm at work but I have the FEC on Set button as well but I don't think that I can see the adjustments through the viewfinder. I have to take my face off the camera and look at the LCD screen.

Like this.

I disagree on this point. There is a lot of talk in these forums about the 'better IQ in high-ISO' regarding the 6D.

Anybody that has a fair ability for NR would know that there is a slight difference, not really worth considering as a criterion for differentiation.

I think the people that see the 'higher IQ' are merely looking at SOOC jpegs.

I think inadvertently you touched on this... People coming from a Rebel from the previous generation or a 60D and older, can look at a 6D jpeg SOOC at 6400 and will be absolutely floored at the IQ. (I was floored at the SOOC 6400 jpegs from the 60D coming from a P&S...).

Could be, I won't argue with that.

I just thought, or I should say perhaps wrongly assumed, that most people had the skills and knowledge to look at the IQ differences only on the RAW side (especially for cameras like these two). Maybe I assumed that because that's how I look at it :)

I hear you, but you guys don't use language like 'stomps all over...', 'wipes the floor...' etc. ;)

Having spent half my professional life in corporate research, I was taught early on that this kind of language is unacceptable and detracts from your argument.

Gerry, why are you singling me out? You have to tell that to some other guys here and not me; not only did I never say those things, but actually tried to reason with others who did :)
But if you can point me to posts where I supposedly said those things, I will admit my guilt :)
So I presume that your comment wasn't specifically aimed at me.

It's not a big deal, but it's just funny how I get crap from one side when I objectively state that the high ISO difference is just little and I personally wouldn't consider it a deciding factor (that side wants more dramatic phrases to describe the difference). Then I get the same treatment from the other side for supposedly stating things like "stomps all over "and wipes the floor", which I never stated :) . I kind of feel like a moderate, central politician with good intentions, whose gets attacked by both the left and right for his acts. :)

Gabe, I am not singling you out for bad behavior. I said you don't use this kind of language, not that you do.

I have a lot of respect as much for your photographic skills (which far exceed mine) as much for your moderate and well posed opinions in this forum.

Having been a moderator in a sport (skiing) forum and a Linux forum, believe me, I have come to appreciate such virtues in forum members!... :D

OMG, I'm such a retard
I totally misinterpreted your post. I thought it was a negating imperative sentence structure with an emphasis and that's why you used the personal pronoun 'you'. Ouch :)
Please ignore my last post. I think I need a life vest, because I'm starting to sink with my shame :)
I either need to improve my English, or start reading posts with more care :)

Don't worry! My English, sometimes, tends to be quite long-winded, which leads to misinterpretations. I tend to think of nouns in terms of male/female/neutral as in my native Greek. This can differentiate nouns and lead to much longer sentences, while in English it gets more and more confusing to people.

Never thought you were Greek, your English is excellent. I'm Hungarian, and my native language is Hungarian.

No, 5D3 will be just 'downgraded' as backup :lol::lol:

 Who needs a joystick with only 11 AF points? You can easily use the shutter and aperture dial to adjust AF points and the menus are easy to navigate on a D-pad. I don't miss the joystick.

I thought I'd hate not having a joystick but I really like the D-Pad and I got used to it almost instantly. 11 AF points I'm still on fence with that one. If they gave the 6D the 7D focus options it would be a home run for me.
