Mar 26, 2014 10:57 | #7 The ponies were introduced here in the 70’s to naturally maintain the bald areas. They are considered “wild” in the sense that they fend for themselves. Several trails pass through here—the Appalachian Trail being one—so the ponies are quite used to people. Here is a pretty interesting video/link: Barry
