Getting Color Corrected and Calibrated

The time has come where frustrations of adobe camera profiles in LR and ACR have left me wanting the real deal. The mission is to create a color correct camera profile for my RAW images in LR and get my monitor calibrated. What is the best and easiest means for doing both? I'm more focused on getting a correct camera profile for LR as my prints are very accurate to my display, but I'd prefer to get both done. X-Rite Color checker? How do I make a custom profile from the image exactly?

ColorChecker Passport. Quick and simple. If you go to the x-rite website there are plenty of videos showing how to use the Passport, as well as their other products. It really is as simple as right clicking in the image in Lr.

Great! Thank You! I've never calibrated my display, but every print I make is accurate to my display, so I have no complaints there. I'd just like the image to appear as it did in reality and not a profile with too much blue or orange, etc. Creating a accurate photo is actually pretty hard anymore

If you are using Linux or Mac you can use Darktable which has a linear input profile and you can output/calibrate linear. It is not as pleasant as the enhanced color matrix you normally see in LR, but WYSIWYG if you set everything right.
