Hi All,

A Sigma 70 - 300
A Canon 28-80 Ultrasonic EF

I have the optioin of buying either of the 2 mentioned lens, quite cheap. Below by my signature is my existing array of kit. At the moment, I am just looking for something different, I dont shoot birds or subjects far away, but sometimes whilst on holiday I like to shoot objects but those objects are rather far away.

Most of my shoots is of people, my current array of lens means that I cant shoot anything that is too far away, you can hardly see the people if they are too far away.

I am really confused, but what I do know is that I dont have a big budget, literally £120 max.

Should I venture into either of the 2 mentioned lens or go for something different i.e try to find a 18 - 200mm lens perhaps.

thanks in advance.

Camera: Canon 500D, f1.8 50mm, kit lens, Tamron 17-50 f2.8 VC, 430EX flash, Remote control,Tripod, Cleaning kit.

based on what you have, I would look at getting the 55-250 IS before either of the two lenses listed. The 28-80 is quite old, and would not be much additional reach over your 17-50, which is superior in every way. The Sigma 70-300 would depend on the model, but for the cost the best budget friendly telephoto zoom is the 55-250.

My vote for the 55-250 as well.
