Hi,

Due to some unexpected expenses, I am looking at selling my Canon camera gear and would like some input on what would be a fair price. I will post what I am thinking of as a sale price and if you could confirm that I am in the right ballpark or advise me on what would be a better price, it would be appreciated. Remember, the prices listed are in Canadian dollars.

1) Canon 60D, 9-9.5 out of 10 condition, 11K clicks, 2 batteries, body cap, charger, box, 16GB SD card, 2 60D neck straps - $550
2) Canon EF 50mm 1.8, 9 out of 10 condition, both end caps - $90
3) Canon EF-S 18-135mm 3.5-5.6, 9 out of 10 condition - $325
4) Canon 420EX Flash, 9 out of 10 condition - $120
5) Black's camera backpack case, 9 out of 10 condition - $50

All told, the total comes to $1,135. I would do shipping and paypal for $1,200 to Canada or the U.S.

I am basing a lot of the prices on the same items that sold on eBay. Are these reasonable prices? Would I be best to sell on eBay or something like this forum or Kijiji?

Thanks...
Al

Just keep in mind that right now Canon is doing a 20% discount on a number of refurbed cameras and lenses, and people get a 1 year warranty. You are going to have to compete with that (out of the US market anyways), or hope for consumer ignorance, or wait out the latest sale, or restrict your sales to Canadian residents. Prices seem very reasonable though.

Heya,

Looks fairly reasonable. I tend to use KEH.com for checking prices with conditions. And if you want to sell it fast, simply cut it down a bit and offer shipping/fees as being covered by you. For some reason, people think $10 saved is a huge deal when dropping $1k and it pulls in more attention when they see "free shipping / paypal" oddly enough.

You're more likely to part this one out. But if you cut the whole deal as a package deal, you may be able to get $1k for it all, shipped & fees included.

Very best,

The body and flash seem OK. The lenses might not be.

Edit: I see you listed as Canadian dollars. Prices OK.
