Orioles Spring Training 2014

My father is a huge Baltimore Oriole fan, and every year he gets season tickets to Spring training. I usually will go down for a week and go to a game or two (I'm a Red Sox fan) and try to sneak my gear in. My seats weren't nearly as good this year (I was about halfway out into right field), however, and between other fans heads getting in the way and trying not to get in the way of other fans, I probably only shot a combined 3 innings this year (and not much exciting happened...)

All shot with a 1D4 + 400 2.8 IS. Maybe a couple with the 1.4x II extender. Definitely still prefer my 5d3 image quality wise, but it's so hard switching back once I got used to the 1D4's 10fps!

Outstanding!!!!! Sigh... I'm so envious of your 400mm f/2.8. What a beast of a lens. That aside, these probably couldn't have been PP'd any better so at least the gear is in the hands of someone well-deserved. WB is bang on and everything about these images screams professional. Please share more!

Ha, ya there really wasn't much sneaking I suppose. I've brought the 400 into a few spring training games now, and the gate checkers at the Oriole's park don't even bat an eye. They are usually more concerned that I'm not bringing in cans of soda than they are with a 12lbs lens!
