I bought a fotodiox adapter to use with my 20 year old FD lens. Quick back yard photo.

Not sure what you are trying to show. I am not surprised that the mkII is still better than the FD with a glass adapter, even at this resolution, especially when stopped down. That extra glass is taking a little of the color, sharpness/contrast with it, but better than not being able to use the lens at all.

FD glass with mirrorless cameras uses a lensless adapter, due to compatibilty of the flange distances. What I would be curious about is doing the same shots on an EOS M rather than your 1d and seeing if the difference is as pronounced.

I was just surprised that it wasn't that bad!! I figured it would worse.

LOL

I rented a 70-200 L 2.8 IS and 70-300 L for this weekend to try to decide if I want to buy the 70-200 2.8 IS. I would love one but.... The rental deal is too hard to overlook for occasional use. I can rent it for $104 including waver and shipping. :)

I'll post more photos later. It's raining today.

Yes, our standards for acceptable image quality has really gone up with the pixel peeping and the ease of online comparisons. Dont forget, you can still pop a hole in your body cap and take pinhole type images without any glass at all!

Good luck with your decision. 70-200II is quite a lens.

Forget FD. You want the EF 70-200/4 L IS lens.

I know the fully manual FD is out. But I wanted to experiment with it.

It's all rain all the time here I'll be shipping the rentals back without much use.

If I buy a new L it will be the 2.8. Otherwise I'll just make due with the non L 75-300.

Great lenses. What a nice cheap way to add a lens to your collection!

Had fun with rentals today. I like both equally! The 70-200 2.8 is great.

I'm getting one. After taxes are paid!!

That is with the EF 70-200 mk 2.

I played with the 2x extender too. Great shots at 400 mm focus tracking us fantastic with the 1Dx.
