GIMP For Image Editing

Hi Everyone

Has anyone here used GIMP for editing images? (The free image manipulation software) If so, is any good? Anyone here recommends it?
I like to use for creating fine art work with my photos. Particularly with my Macro, and landscape images.
I just found out that Photoshop is now by subscription. And here where I teach, it will cost me about $350 a year subscription. And that’s for the basic CS6.
I think that’s really ridicules. :rolleyes:

Ishy, you could also purchase Photoshop Elements which is pretty full featured, and can find it on sale for under $100 if you want to go the commercial buy route. Other than that - even though I have not used it myself - a lot of people use, and are very happy with Gimp. Good luck.
