Would like some general CC on this shot regarding composition and anything else I could improve on.

Thanks!

crop the top, adds nothing, remember the rule of thirds

I respectfully disagree with planet5D, I think the trees at the top provide a frame for the path and illustrates the vastness/thickness of the forest. IMO, your comp works. I would add a bit more contrast and call it a shot.

Some moments are too amazing to be ruined with words.

I agree with Boone13 but I would have framed the scene so that the dark tree on the right is a bit further from the edge of the frame (the left is fine). I wouldn't want to lose anything from this nice nature shot.

Ok, obviously getting out voted here, but tell me that the extra foliage really adds something to the image.

Here's the crop I would make since the OP said image editing was ok.

IMAGE: http://blog.planet5d.com/critiques/rainforest.jpg

In this crop, I feel the eye moving thru the image from bottom around the path to the top

in the OP image, my eye doesn't really move, it sees the fog in the center and stays there.

I don't see anything of value lost and I find an awesome image with movement.

I think a polarizer would have helped by cutting down the glare from some of the leaves and giving the greens a more saturated look.

Do not crop the top !
Crop the bottom if you want by making a square, or whatever ( anyway you put it right in the middle when you took the shot, so hard to do something now )

planet5D, i agree with you that the crop you made, give to the eyes a path to move in the picture instead to be stuck in the middle (like the original ), but the top give a lot, without the top it's not anymore the same environment.

May be there is another way to crop or do something ... ( i tried a square keeping the top but not happy )

I vote original crop. Looks nice and thick with humidity too. Cool shot!

There's always someone! ;)

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm pretty happy with it IMO, might get it printed up and see how it looks hanging on the wall next.
