Hi guys/gals. I just received the pre owned G1X I purchased from a P.O.T.N. member and am new to the G series section. This baby is a little heavier/larger than I remember when I tried it at Fry's but than it had all that stuff attached to keep it powered, so it was hard to judge the weight etc.. I think it will fit in my jacket pocket when I have one but if not? Anyway, how do you carry yours?

Hey, glad you received you camera. Unfortunately that is the plus and also minus of the camera. It's fun to shoot, great handling because of its size, but because of its size it's not a pocket camera. I use a lowepro apex 100 for carrying. As I think I told you before, I also have a sony rx100, and even though handle is not as great because of its size, because of its size I use it probably 90 percent of the time, and my 7d/g1x.. the other 10%.
An example is this weekend, was my mother inlaws birthday at a resturant with 30 people. I did want to be the nerd with the camera bag, because I was not sure if I was going to take pictures. So I had my sony rx100 in my jacket, at end of party pulled it out and took 30 or so candid shots with everyone, and they all came out fantastic.....as we all now, everyone has different requirements.

Lowepro Apex 100aw as well, handy small size with a few pockets for spare battery, memory card and 2 filters. In the main compartment I have a micro flex leg tripod as well. I have taken off the camera neck strap and fitted a simple hand strap.
I never like to carry a camera in a pocket, if I am a mountainous trek for landscapes I usually carry a small rucksac anyway.

When I have my G1X with me I usually also have one or two other cameras plus a few lenses so I'm not a great yardstick to judge by.

I also have a Lowepro but don't have a clue what number it is as it does not say.....it was brought for me by my wife a few years ago for my Canon G6 ( which I still have).
When I bought the G1x I didn't realise that it was about the same size as the G6 as I had the impression it is bigger...however the case fits perfectly.

I use a Lowepro Edit 110. Perfect for G1X, spare memory cards, a few extra batteries and you can stuff in the charger and cables if you want to. I find it absolutely perfect for my needs.

Thanks everyone; I will be checking on the various pouches suggested. I thought it was a little big/heavy to put in a jacket pocket. I could see it getting damaged easily like that!

I don't have the G1X, but have the G16 which is a little smaller than the G1X. I use the Dashpoint 20 for the G16. You may want to have a look at that series as well for the G1X as it's a pretty basic case and easy to carry.

Thanks; today I had it in a soft pouch in my jacket and I was very careful not to hit anything. I could see it getting smacked easily that way if you forget it's there!

The G1X also will fit a Lowepro Apex 60 AW with spare memory card, spare battery while using a wrist strap. A neck strap attached is a bit much to stuff into this bag.

A bag that carries a bit more, the Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 10. I use it to carry the G9 and G15 with RRS L-plates, batteries and memory cards. I've also sized it for two G1X bodies without neck straps. For single carry, this would handle spare memory cards, batteries, charger along with neck strap.
