Have hiked up here a couple of times but always during summer. The lake is solidly frozen but the view is even more spectacular...

EDIT: This is Dream Lake, NOT Emerald Lake which is a bit further up.

Thanks everyone. Those people at the bottom of the image were heading towards Dream Lake. We originally planned on going there, too, but the wind was gusting way too much for my wife to handle, so we turned back.

Actually, you were at Dream Lake. Emerald Lake is the further lake.

After 3 successive operations recently, I'm learning that I now have increased tendency to mix things up. After the hike to this lake, I asked my teenage son what the elevation of this "Emerald Lake" was in comparison to "Dream Lake" higher up, and he came up with 9,912 ft for Dream Lake and 10,090 for Emerald Lake. I said, "how can that be!" :o
