Good evening all! Hope everyone is doing well! Some images from this weekends Red Hook Crit championship. They ride on fixed single gear bikes (aka the only way to hit the break is to hit backwards on the pedals). It was raining, windy and extremely cold. Held in the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.

The ladies took a spill but everyone was okay!

Oh, thanks for the invite. And I'll bet those ladies can kick your arse on a bike. Unless your spandex is all tied up in knots.

For the past 3 years, this race draws out hoards of photogs.... I bet the numbers were a bit lower that night with the rain and all. I hope no cameras were damaged shooting this race since not everybody was shooting with a fully weather sealed camera.

Really, shooting a night time bike race, that's not much you can really do. Here are some shots from 2012..I gelled the flash here... Not a big fan shooting this race, ever though. :)

To say they were lower is an understatement. I could count on one hand how many there were out there. It was my main motivation to go out and get some shots since i knew the elements would keep everyone but the most hardcore out of that weather.

Having the 5dmkIII iso abilities really helped. You cant really push the shadows for recovery much due to the sensor but i cant complain with the results either :)

I think Omar is busy riding his bike...he even got his girlfriend to ride too. :) I definitely need some of his hardcore motivation.
