I just received my refurb 5DMiii from the CLP and checked the shutter count thru eoscount.com - it showed 1050 as the shutter count, is that about normal for refurb?

Apr 01, 2014 17:25 | #2 I don't think there's a 'normal', varies a lot. Mine had 7 or so, but I've seen numbers all over the place. (I actually find it odd that Canon does not reset the counter on refurb). I'd not worry about it, not a very big number. 40D, 5D3, a bunch of lenses and other things

Of course, B&H doesn't charge tax or shipping. Luvsadog2

Apr 01, 2014 19:05 | #8 Yeah 1k is low, I doubt Canon would reset the count as its good to know how many it has done, although a shutter can fail at 1 shot or 1 million shots then don't worry, as long as it works and you got it for a good price then shoot away.

Can anyone doing a recent CLP purchase shed some light on what discount they received? I got 20% off almost 2 years ago on a 60D and last November my niece got 20% off on a T5i. Maybe it varies based on model purchased?

Edit: When you trade in a broken Canon camera you deduct 10% off the refurbished price. The price I paid ($2,447 before taxes) included the extra 10% off the refurb price since I am trading in an older Canon camera - otherwise, it would have been $2719 (the refurb price listed on the Canon website). I am well aware of that link and also well aware it hadn't been updated in some time. Hence the reason I asked "can anyone doing a recent CLP purchase shed some light on what discount they received?
