As the title suggests, they have released new lens, some of which could be good for astro work. See HERE

Hot damn this is looking pretty sweet. Perhaps I will have to wait to get an astro lens until this one gets released. I could not find release info about it though. I would also like to see some images of the fisheye too. Still on the fence about what to get. Do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life.

At $399 it isn't anywhere near the Tokina lens pricewise. I think the Tokina lens goes for almost $600, no? Do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life.

Since I already have the Tokina, I didn't dig any further than that. "Treat every photon with respect" - David Malin.

For the canon mount it is being sold for $399 but the Sony mount is $549. However it is really a moot point because this lens will only work on a mirrorless camera and will not work on EOS bodies. Apparently you can use EF-S lenses on mirrorless camera with adaptor but not the other way around. Bummer. Guess it's back to plan A which is Rokinon 14mm 2.8. Hmmm, the B&H site that I liked to above includes this text - The Canon EF mount Rokinon 10mm f/2.8 ED AS NCS CS Lens is a prime, manual focus wide-angle lens designed specifically for use with APS-C sized image sensors. It appears that the mirrorless cameras are also APS sized sensors. This is from Wiki. Do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life.
