Seagulls (600x800)

Hurricane Claudette is coming, and I decided I would go out and take some photos, and these kids just grabbed my attention. I felt proud, so many people were out taking photos, yet I was the only person with a decent camera… Yeah for me 10D

This is an excellent photograph, well framed and executed. The lighting and exposure are very good. Kind of whimsical, looks like one of the boys is concerned about the number of seagulls or about getting something unwelcome dropped onto his head

I concur... an excellent photograph. Without the two boys in it, it would have been nothing special (I'm not referring to technique here, just the feeling the photo conveys). They make this picture. Great capture!

Shhh, just ignore the huge copyright I put on there, you never know of photo pirates that come on to this site... I am working on a photo gallery now, and it will be on there, smaller, but w/o the copyright. Anyone want to buy rights to this photos? (hey I need to make some money) heh. Tonight, the seagulls may be back to their normalselves.

Brent, speaking of the large copyright, I can easily erase it in photoshop and you wouldn't even know it, so I don't think it does really protect you. The key here is that our posts are always fairly small and compressed so they would not make very good prints. We have the originals and that is what counts. I like this shot a lot as well except for one thing. Why are your seagulls heads black??? We only have white and a few grey colored ones on the west coast. I like yours better!!! It is nice that you took a vertical rather than horizontal shot. The difference here is that it makes you look up and that is the effect you want. A horizontal shot would have been too flat (pardon the pun). Excellent!

Yah people can erase it, in fact when I was sending a pic to someone, and didnt want to mess with the original, I cloned out my own copyright, heh... oh well.

But, yeah... they are black headed... texas coast... Never thought about it, but I think there are grey headed ones too (or their heads turn black when they are about to attack, heh)

I always post bmy pictures (with blended copyright) not larger than a format that will give a good 4x6 print. Don't really care if people want to do that. Larger prints will be of poor quality.

BTW anyone want to buy this photo? (Kidding) but does anyone know some decent contests to enter. Most of the ones I found online are ones that are fake... well you buy the book with your photo in it and your a "winner"

ok, just picking at nits here. This is a super image...but it could be a little better with some judicious photoshop work. See the little boy on the left..he has wings/bird coming out of his head. Since this is an art shot and I am assuming it isn't "news" you can remove those wings. The boy on the right is SO strong because he has no birds right behind his head.

This also would have been stronger if you had knelt down so that the horizon was not right at the left boy's neck line.

So pardon my taking liberties here, but I sorta worked on it a bit...and will take it down as soon as you want! This was a quick job so it is by no means perfect.

Hmm though I did kneal down... I was sitting on the ground... in the middle of the street LOL, actualyl I kind of fell and that seemed like a good angle.

Hehe didnt notice the horizon was through his neck, makes it looks weird now... now you ruined my photo, j/k oh well thanks for the criticism.
