My wife's A1100IS just started producing pictures that come out looking like this. The image also looks the same on the camera's preview screen too.

I've restored the defaults and messed with quite a few of the settings and can't affect any change.

Has anyone experienced this? Is it fixable?

Not SD card related. It happens whether there is a card in or not.

Not really sure what causes this. It started happening with my A80, which led me to the decision to buy my first DSLR. I'm glad it happened! :D

Woa! Cameras on acid.
I've got other cameras too (DSLR, P&S). It's just that she's grown comfortable with her camera and I'm wondering if it is something that can be fixed?

If not the card then must be the sensor itself or some electronic interference by something inside the camera? Either way.....I would toss it in the trash!

Looks like it's this or something similar. Serves me right for un-sticking it, but I don't think Canon's honoring it any more as the cameras most likely to be affected are well past expected life.

Thanks Jon.

Mine isn't on the list but I guess I'll just look at replacing it or repairing it (if it's worth it).

I actually like that.....in a weird "on acid" kind of way!

Don't toss it in the trash until you investigate the Canon Loyalty Program.
