Hi All!

It's been a while since I've posted photos for critique, and I could really use some Constructive Critique so I can improve this season.

Thanks for sharing your advice with me!

I like these, though the first couple of poses seem a little stiff. The last few seem better so I am guessing that they loosened up as the shoot progressed. In #2 I would have liked to see you positioned a little further down the bridge so that the rail would have been at an angel and acted as a leading line to the couple rather than dividing the frame. #3 the green bush in front of the couple is distracting.

On a completely different note, is he wearing an engagement ring as well?

Maybe it is just my iPad, but are all of the photos out of focus?

For your next engagement shoot, try to have more pictures where they aren't looking at the camera.

Just have then interact with each other and capture the emotion.

Really really need to work on posing. Watch some Jasmine Star videos on how to pose couples on youtube and her site and it will help you out alot. You have the right DoF and lighting is good. Its just the posing that is really killing it. Really shows in 5 and 6

I agree with the posing but the pictures do look out of focus as well, or you reduced the clarity on some of these in post. I'm not a fan of lowering clarity on the entire picture, instead I would reduce clarify in specific areas (face, pores only).

If not the clarity adjustments, with a 5DIII pictures should come out sharper. If you were shooting with your 85 1.8, did you shoot at 1.8? That would probably be the problem. For pictures with more than one person, aperture needs to close just a little bit more or you lose depth of field which may have happened here.

Thanks for all your comments! I do need posing help, I will try to watch some of Jasmine's videos.

These are all sharp at 100%, I usually shoot at around 2.8 on the 85mm, so sometimes both faces aren't super sharp. I don't reduce clarity on these, so I'm curious why they appear out of focus for several people. Perhaps it's a resizing problem on the ipad?

Yep, I do think he was wearing his ring for engagement as well.

Thanks again everyone!
