Stolen Idea.....had to try it!

I saw a post from Rachel (RMR21) using her beautiful daughter as the model where she photoshopped a butterfly in her little hands. I thought it was a great picture and needed to try it for myself. I wasn't that happy with the light as it was very harsh at 1pm but we found some shade and did the best we could. I don't like that we had some bright and dark spots from the light coming through the trees but I am not totally unhappy with the results. I will try again when I have her around and some better light.

Cute. Might be more effective if the butterfly had a shadow. You can fake it by putting a drop shadow on the butterfly before you combine the layers. I'm not sure how it would look blown up because the shadow doesn't conform to the contours of your daughter's hands. But it's more believable than floating in space.

I agree 100% with the drop shadow idea and thanks for commenting.. My photoshop program isn't giving me much play since I upgraded my operating system to Mavericks. Crash city! Need to upgrade my software now then things will be easier and I can try again. Thanks again!
