This is a composite of three shots. The majority is what you see here. The second shot was a flash held facing a camera where the orb is, and the third is of the background with nothing in it and at a normal exposure. The sky is blown in that, but the trees, grass, etc... are exposed "correctly"

So, any suggestions on what to do here?

Just my first impression: if that glowing orb is supposed to be hovering above her hand, you need to have reflected light (brighter than what's already there) on her hand, face, neck, arm, and maybe even some little glints in the water.

Did you shoot in RAW? If so there are probably lots of things you can do.

I had that in a previous photo I did, but I did the orb light in the same photo. I only had two people the day I did the photo in this thread: me and the girl in the picture. I was thinking about the light source from the orb as well.

Any suggestions on how to achieve this with what I have?

All photos were shot in RAW.

The trees in the background were originally a little lighter, but a curves adjustment put them back to being dark.

Here's the previous photo. The light source from the orb is much better, but the orb looks funny. Even though the flash came from behind her hand, it showed up in front.

If you use any software like Lightroom, Photoshop, Gimp... shouldn't be too tough with an adjustment brush. Maybe even DPP would work.

It's like you got it backwards -- where the orb is above her hand, there should be highlights on her face, but where the orb is below her hand, there should be shadow (from her hand) on her face.
