The door of a garage we passed on a walk today in a ritzier neighborhood than ours. This garage and the house it belongs to are both in extremely distressed condition. The house is large and looks abandoned. Seeing a property so neglected in that location was a surprise. There was no For Sale sign or anything.

Tim.. beautiful shot!
Look.. Love that door. I'm always sad to see a house neglected.. It is no longer a home.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to seeing more wonderful pictures from everyone on here.

And we are looking forward to seeing more of yours...welcome from me too! You would have loved where I went this weekend...to Peter Jackson's museum of old aircraft from the First World War...some of them were flying 100 years ago!

OhLook...yes, abandoned houses leave one feeling uneasy, I think. That door is very interesting...

I thought your gnarled tape was great...it reminded me of days in my youth, fishing for salmon in a river near home with an old rod and a reel that used to produce very gnarly birds-nests of nylon fishing line when I cast it wrong! Which was often!

Ricardo, I also recall those birds nests with the old bait casting reels. Never could quite master the correct thumb pressure. Hooray for spinning tackle.

Phun topic and great pictures all.

OldCrow, Joayne, Ricardo, Tim and OhLook, those are great additions.

I sure hope you don't have to untangle those strips, OldCrow.

That looks like a great museum, Ricardo. That's definitely a place we would enjoy visiting.

Love the sky Joayne, that's totally gnarly!

Beautiful bridge Tim, I love the reflection you captured.

That's one gnarly door, OhLook. It's actually quite intriguing.

Thanks for the warm welcome towards my boy, everyone.

Thanks EBG; never did have much luck untangling those birds nests. The tape usually ended up in the trash--as this one will. Was sure glad when CDs came out.

I don't recall seeing that particular movie. We did recently see "The Monuments Men" and it was nice to see Michaelangelo's Madonna and Child that those men recovered as WWII came to an end in Europe.

We walked all over Brugge for two days. Found an amazing little hole in the wall restaurant. Great place, but very busy with spring break vacationers from France. A little too much like Disney's Epcot for my tastes. The key to getting decent photos, was to get up early before the tourist hoards descended on the town like a plague of locust.

That was indeed a very quirky movie...I enjoyed it too.

I decided that I really wanted to contribute something other than just yarn in this thread. :)

This is a painting by a Dutch painter that has a rather meandering history as it changed hands a number of times. However, I was the one who actually bought it from the painter himself and it is back where it started as it now hangs in my house again. It's Paris in the rain. It's dark, moody and gnarly. And so is its history. And as you can see there is also more than one gnarly tree in it.
