Yongnuo YN-622C problem

Equipment:

2- YN622C
1- Youngnuo YN-565 flash
1- Canon 60D camera

When using my flash with the triggers off camera of course, I like to run the flash in manual mode and set my control to 1/2 but when I focus my camera it sets the flash back to 1/64. What am I doing wrong?

One thing I found about the YN-622c when I was having some kind of problems, make sure it is all the way in on the hot shoe, it sometimes needs the final push.

Are you setting M levels on-flash? Don't. Use the camera's flash control menu.

The 622C as transmitter carries the last-set values, which the camera adopts on power-up. The on-flash setting is ignored. The basic concept is that the 622C provides a radio communication between camera menus and flashes. The on-camera 622C is seen as a Master flash, whose job it is to communicate commands to remote flashes.

BTW each 622C may have its own values which will be enforced when it is used as a transmitter.

Are you setting the power (1/2) in the camera's menu or physically on the flash?

I set the power on the flash.

Try setting the power on from the 60D's External Flash control menu.

Thanks guys, that solved my issue.....learned something new today.

Glad you got it sorted out. Now you won't have to worry about running over to the flash every time you want to change settings. It's much more convenient to do it front he camera. Especially when you start adding more flashes.
