So I'm trying to decide which monopod to get and wanted to see if anyone out there in camera land has a 682B? I like the idea that it has 3 legs which make it free standing. Albeit it's no replacement for a tripod, but for those shoots where you want hands off, can your 682b handle the weight of the camera and a big ol 70-200 2.8 and a grip by itself??

I just purchased this about 3 weeks ago. I've used it twice so far. I think I like it. On both occassions I found it necessary to bring the 3 legs out for extra support as the sun was low and it was getting dark. I think I'm going to like it.

Last time on vacation I carried my regular monopod with me and there were times when I would have loved to have this one. I will be taking this with me next time and I'm sure it will come in handy again.

I saw one in shop this weekend and I'll tell you right now, I do not think I'd trust it to hold my camera by itself without soemone standing next to it. those legs are too flimsy, especially with a heavy lens like that 70-200.

I've got a 3232 head on mine, and use it a lot with my video gear. The legs will hold up, but I don't trust it for more than giving my hands a rest. It's a heavy bugger, not for hiking.
