Been wanting to do some time lapse/video stuff on a slider for a while. Are there any systems out there that don't break the bank? I'll consider a DIY one. But sometimes my DIY projects end up a little bad. heh.

Yeah, I saw them a little later on after I posted. Good price. They will also be offering a panning adapter for the rail system later on. Gonna budget up to get one of these things.

I'm gambling on one from Kickstarter, the AXIS360. No big hopes but it might surprise. All ever really wanted out of a timelapse machine is something that can carry a Nex sized camera, a G1X, well that size in a 360 degree pan over a variable amount of time.
The egg-timers on e-bay will carry a GoPro and do well but can't really successfully carry much heavier. Maybe the AXIS 360 will fit the bill.
Here's one of my timelapses before discovering Canon:

That looks nice.. I'd want the Pro, but it'll be a while before I have money for it. Would love to get one before my vacation, but that won't happen.

From the looks of the video, they might be from Austin.

I can add that the Axis people were accessible and helpful prior to purchase.
