I wonder how B & H decides who gets the first batch? I ordered at 12:30 am PDT and you ordered on 4am PDT. But you have one shipped and I am on backordered order status. Lucky you.

God damn it it's still nowhere to be seen in any of the EU stores I know. Anyone? Help? PLEASE?

Far out, I was on the fence between the 50L and Sigma 50 Art but seeing some non-reviewer photos has sealed the deal for me. I've ordered the Sigma!

Why not. It'll take a while to get it though as i'm in Australia. They're estimating it'll be delivered in June.

Just griping. B & H claims that they send the lens out to whoever orders first. I ordered 3 hours ahead of a person who got his lens already. For me, I got placed on thier back order list instead. Wtf.

NO, I meant no offense to the dude that got his shipped after we ordered, I am with you, I am on your team, I ordered 4:00 am eastern time over here!!!!! that is around when he ordered his.....Gripe away! WTF!!!!!!!

So there is hope I'll get my lens before you guys even though I should be after? I kid, I kid! On the B&H site what does your order status say? "On order" or "On back order"? Just curious.

I can't speak for any other retailer but it can happen at Adorama that while a customer physically places his order at, say, 12:00, if there are funding / ID verification issues, or the method of payment is slower eg PayPal or BillMeLater rather than CC it can take longer for an order to hit our system. If we are already low on inventory then the delay in payment processong (over which we have no control because we are reliant upon another body) can be the problem, and an order placed a little later might process faster.

I paid with paypal. It paid B & H at 12:36AM. B & H has my cash. Instead of getting a lens on the first batch, I get a backorder letter rather than a lens. Darn system, why would CC be faster?

I did pay with CC.
