Honestly, the more I think about it, the more questions I have. I have a feeling that copy variation may come into play more with MTF and less with how a lens tends to render contrast between colors. The article seems to suggest that there is some (seemingly vague) optical relationship between resolution and contrast at a very fine level to color color rendition on a level somewhere above the very fine 10-30lpmm level.

In the real world, I think many of these differences can probably be accounted for in raw processing. The optimal raw starting point or profile may differ from lens manufacturer to lens manufacture (or even lens to lens) as it does from camera to camera.

Haha na sorry I actually have the old version, I've just been interested in how the AF of the Art version is compared to the previous one since the AF is all that I was unhappy with on the old version. 3/100 misses is actually pretty good if you ask me and way more than acceptable consider how good the IQ of a Sigma lenses are. To me it sounds like your copy is working great, but I believe the 6D being a real new body has a lot to do with that. The people I've seen with issues have had bodies in the 1D series. I think there are still a few copies with QC issues but nowhere near as bad as what the original Sigmalux had

Gotcha. Yes I heard the first version is really erratic. I don't know if it is 6d or what, but I can tell you 2 of my 4 were on outer points with it, both static, and all my shots have been in one shot mode, not ai servo. I have been trying to report back factual info based on my copy as I encourage others to as well, so that the vagueness of sigma AF can at least have a small sample here of real experience. Is it as good as my 24, no. I doubt that lens misses 1.5 in 100. Does it matter? Sure a miss is a miss, but when the benefits of this thing far outweigh semantics, I think anyone who has a copy would find that to be the case.

There was some people who had no issues at all with the first version! My copy was real bad on my 550D but on the 6D it's great. I actually use the outer points for the old Sigma on my 6D and even indoors it doesn't seem to have a problem, this is with +8 MA using the dot tune method though. Yeah if it misses that little I wouldn't even worry about. With my old version, I just use LV when I can see I never have to worry about its consistency.

Almost brought the canon 50mm f1.2 craiglist for 1150.00 but I went to youtube and see the review
I like the fast focus on it , it be great for judo and Aikido .
I tested my new canon f1.4 it seem the auto focus is slower then the original canon f1.4 that I had 4 years ago which was sold.
posting it on craiglist now the new canon f1.4 feel very cheap with slow auto focus.

Amazon is the best and have #1 customer services. I always order it even it said not in stock but they always got a magic wand and get the item real quick.

I definitely like Amazon too, I screwed up an order once and forgot to bundle it all together so they gave me free shipping on one item even though it was my mistake. I never have to wait more than a week for packages either even though they have to ship all the way to Perth.

It makes me think I should cancel my B&H order but meh.

Just order from amazon if it show up before B&H or Adorama then cancel from them.
Amazon wont charge you anything if it not shipped.

Looks like sigma shipped some out... The 35 is back in stock at B&H as of today as well...
