So most my photography is motorsports and I currently own 3 of the 7D's and love them but I have been wanting to jump into the full frame world and just torn on the 5D3 or 6D....

Anyone own both?
What do you love and hate about each?
Also would you buy them again?

Thanks,
Catherine

I only own the one, a 5D3, and I really hope this doesn't turn into one of those threads but if what you're shooting is mainly motorsport then I think the 5D3 AF and higher burst rate will suit you better

I use a 6D, but don't do anything like motorsports. I love my camera, but I don't think it is up to the challenge of fast-moving AI-Servo work with long, fast lenses. If I could afford a 5D3, I would not own a 6D.

6D owner.

No reason other than budget to pick 6D in your situation.

I believe the 5D III will be what you need. I own the 5D III and a friend owns the 6D. The 6D is great, but it's autofocus servo won't work well in autosports.

Yeah. Unless there is financial reason you are on the fence why not get the camera that has the advanced AF for your application.

I used a 6D for 10 months and now 5D3. Before the 6D I had a 7D. The 5D3 is a big brother to the 7D with everything better aside from FPS.

The two bodies are so close in design/ergonomics that it's a breeze to jump from one to the other.

5D3 with it's best of class auto focus for anything fast paced IMHO.

I've heard that a lot. I never had a 7D, but it makes me wonder if the 7D will be discontinued just like the 1Ds was.

What's wrong with 3 of 7Ds for motorsports?

The autofocus system on the 5D III is much better than the 7D.

Nothing wrong with my 7D's, I just want to have the option to shoot with a full frame.

I enjoy shooting more then just motorsports so I guess I'm being greedy and wanting both crops and full LOL

I have heard good and bad on both bodies but need to pull the trigger on one soon. I will keep at least 2 of my 7D's and add a full frame - wish there was a local store to put them in my hand :(

Owned both the 6D and 5D3 at different times, if cost is not an issue, go with the 5D3 you will be happy with it. Just my view

5D Mark III.
Coming from the 7D, why downgrade in features, when you can upgrade.
Having come from a pair of 7D's myself, the layout, AF system, build quality etc.is on par if not improved.
