I attended Peter Read Millers workshop in Denver a couple years ago. Had a great time and met some great people.

Thinking about trying Rich Clarkson's Sports Workshop (external link) in Colorado Springs this July.

Thought maybe I would post this up here to see if any of the regular sports guys I follow on here (Zivnuska, tmalone893, namasste, cstewart, S.Horton, xchangx, TedEllis, gkross, clarence, et al.) might be interested as well. Would love to meet up and shoot/learn with some of you.

Could be kind of a POTN get-together.

Would be nice... I encourage you to take a look at the Sport Shooter Academy:

Great pros that put that on. I'm actually looking to start one here in the southeast.

I would love to go to SSA. Unfortunately, photography is not my job. My regular job has the same preset vacation periods every year, and SSA never occurs during one of those times.

Sometimes PRM's workshop hits one of my vacations, so that is why I hit that one once before.

And Clarkson's always falls during one of my vacations. So I will likely try it once as well.

If you start one up, be sure to let us know. Would love to attend.

I want to do this also, just can't work it out this time around. Maybe next year. I've heard this is a top notch class.

Are there any sports photography camps in the North East?

Interesting. And just luck I happened across this thread. I'm not as active here as I could be these days.

Divorce (read: freedom) and more going on with the job...... What's the instruction really like?

None that I know of. The only ones I do know have already been mentioned here. PRM has a spring workshop in Denver and a fall one in Atlanta.

Sports Shooter has the academy in the spring or fall in SoCal.

And the Clarkson workshop in July in Colorado Springs.

As for what the instruction is like, my experience at the PRM workshop was excellent. Peter himself is very helpful and patient. And the rest of the instructors were great as well (especially Shawn Cullen and Steve Fine). But like many things, you will only get out of it what you put into it. You have to go with the mindset to learn as much as you can and always be asking questions and talking with not only the instructors, but the other participants in the workshop as well.
