When to mount on foam board?

Is there a certain size where your photos should be mounted on foam board? I have some photos that have wrinkled and others that have not. I'm mostly asking as I'll be at an art event this summer with some of my prints available for purchase. Should they all be on foam board?

Excluding sporting event photos, we mount everything (& laminate everything except fine art prints). 5x7, 8x10, 11x14, 13x19 get mat board mounting, 16x20 and up get foamcore, masonite or gator board (clients' choice).

It's not so much to stop wrinkling (which the mounting does) and to eliminate the need for frame glass (which the laminate does) but for branding. A mounted, laminated, frame-ready piece of artwork in your hand is perceived as quality, compared to a floppy print.

Thanks for the reply. So you don't have glass in your frames? Don't the photos get dirty over time?

Yes, they can get dusty. However, with the laminate, a simple wipe with a damp cloth takes care of it. Much easier to view the print without frame glass, even with the "non-reflective" glass.
