EF 400mm problem (external link)

Is that something I should worry about. I just noticed it to-day. Can't say it was like that when I got the lens a couple of weeks ago, or during this time I've been using it. Methinks it's the pulling out of the built-in hood that caused it. I also noticed a louder AF.

Warranty? Normal wear n' tear?

TIA

The AF is noisier when the lens is held horizontally. Pointed upwards, it's as loud as my EF 70-200 F/4L IS which is not what one would call 'noisy'.

Oh, and the ring ain't wobbly with the hood retracted.
