I've been using RichCopy to backup images to my spare drives and to my raid. It's setup to copy new files, files that changed size, newer dates, etc. I've been noticing it's copying files over that have not been touch by any programs in a while (some are 2-3 year old files).

Anyone use a similar program to RichCopy (Windows) to do backups with?

Yeah, corruption on the primary drive will screw your backups. Use something with a differential backup.

When I used Windows (I'm now on Mac), I did the same thing and used RichCopy to create backups of my music, photos, etc.
One option is to use the free version of CrashPlan which can monitor your files and backup to another local storage device for free. If you want cloud backup, it's pretty inexpensive ($60/yr for one computer, $150/yr for up to 10 computers).

I've look at some of the files it copied a 2nd time and they are fine. I think I had a check box not checked that needed to be. Did a copy to one of my external drives and it only copied the new images I had.

I don't really do weekly full backups. I'd be copying 200gigs+ to 5 different drives. I only a "backup" after I work on images or after a day of shooting.

I'll look at some of the differental backup software when I get off work tonight.

What I mean is if your primary drive slowly fails, with parts of files becoming corrupt and you not noticing, your backups will be corrupted if they're mirrored. This is why differential backups are essential, otherwise you can end up with corrupt backups.

Well, every time I backup, I'm not copying every file (at least that is not what it was supposed to be doing). It was only supposed to copy a file that has been modified (size/time). I think I fixed that problem.
