I was all ready to try this until i read:

"...Aperture & Lightroom requires photoFXlab or Fusion Express."

photoFXlab is $79.95 and cannot find Fusion Express anywhere. So it seems that to plug into Lightroom requires more software. Is that true?

Yes, FusionExpress is free and Topaz Labs rocks! Watch a few of their tutorials to get a big head start otherwise most over-do it.
