So I am fairly new to the world of photography. I really am working towards perfecting my skills in the sports realm of things. I recently graduated university with a bachelor's in Criminal Justice. That being said I have been going to the games on campus (NCAA Division 2) and shooting softball and lacrosse on my own to basically practice my skills that I don't have and to develop the eye needed to succeed.

That being said, a few of the parents of the athletes asked me about my images. I have a zenfolio site that I display my top images (that I think) but how would I go about throwing up masses of shots so they have the potential to buy, with out hurting the portfolio side of things.

I don't sell my images but what I did was separate the two groups of images. I have portfolio galleries for my best shots and then the general shots of the games get posted to my blog or to separate gallery pages that aren't linked to my portfolio. If fact I am about to go through my portfolio and dramatically trim it as I think I got lazy and let in too many. My Gallery http://danmarchant.com/gallery/ (external link) and my blog with some of my latest Rugby shoots http://danmarchant.com/2014/04/gfi-hkfc-rugby-tens/ (external link).

You might want a slightly different approach. You could set up a separate portfolio site where you display only a few of your best shots with the images for sale on your current site.
