Remember, your photos shouldn't change too much just by switching cameras. I can still shoot nice shots with an entry level T3 as long as I have my usual lighting gear. However, I need the 5D3 if I shoot with wide open apertures such as f1.4 since I need a much more accurate focusing system. SYS Cream of the Crop More info | Apr 21, 2014 11:47 | #4 The images you're going to get from 5D3 aren't going to be much different from your previous 7D. What you'll have in 5D3 is the level of control and function that'd allow -- if you use it effectively -- greater freedom to do what you want to do. You'll be missing the reach and burst of 7D in the meantime...

True, however the image quality and af system is what interests me the most, I shoot sports a lot so the lower ios sensitivity will help me out too, 8 fps is nice but 6 should get the job done just as well, I'm pretty happy with my 70-200 right now as far as reach goes but maybe ill upgrade to a 3 or 400mm down the road if it's even necessary Canon EOS R5, RF 15-35 f/2.8, RF 70-200 f/2.8, RF 50mm f/1.2

Whenever the 70-200 is on my camera its usually for sports, mountain biking specifically, wouldnt 260mm be the reach on the crop sensor? Canon EOS R5, RF 15-35 f/2.8, RF 70-200 f/2.8, RF 50mm f/1.2

SYS Cream of the Crop More info | Apr 21, 2014 13:55 | #10 While 70-200 FF is woefully short for wildlife and birding, it should be plenty good enough for mountain biking. So, have you had a chance to browse through the 5D3 images off the link provided above? Any images that you think you couldn't have done with your previous 7D?

The 70-200 is a totally different lens on FF and crop. Agreed, and sometimes even 500mm on FF isn't enough, and you still have to crop. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery
