So I'm looking for a new urban bag for day carry in foreign ports. (Hong Kong, Thailand, Tokyo, Malaysia, Korea, etc). I'm currently trying to decide between the Think Tank Photo Retrospective 7 and the new Domke Herald. I've taken a look at the Retrospective in person at Yodabashi Camera, but noone here in Japan has the new Domke bags yet.

Anyone used one? I'm trying to get a feel for how big these are!

What I plan to carry:
Nikon D600, 18-35mm, 70-200, 50mm (At most)
Microsoft Surface Pro 2 + Charger
Moleskine or RITR notebook.
Maybe a couple accessories

Looking for the smallest possible bag for these that doesn't scream 'STEAL ME!' The Domke's are pretty good about that once you cut the label off. If you have any other suggestions hit me! I currently have a Domke F-832, but it's too big for all-day carry. I put too much stuff in it and my shoulders are killing me by the end of the day.

FYI ..
I use Domke inserts in travel bag luggage.
It is interchangeable w differ bags and the non photo bag is at better price and quality.
My main is a 17 inch Pathfinder w F2 inserts.
It was orig a $300 bag but at closeout discount store for $19.99.

+1

I have a mountainsmith insert for my GoRuck backpack, but it's a bit overkill for being a tourist!

I had a Domke J2 for like 7 years, it was great, PERFECT even. then the side pocket tore.

No one can fix ballistic nylon so I contacted Domke and they sent me a NEW J2.

It's bigger then my original J2 :(
the strap is shorter :(
and the material doesn't wear the same :(
