Decided I would upload these first since I have them all edited. The team needed them that night, so the hard work is already done =)

Finished one spot out of the playoffs, same as last year =(

After the game the players remained on the ice to watch a season ending video. Once the video ended, the team gave away all of the player jerseys to season ticket holders in attendance. They call it the "Jersey Off Their Backs" event. All the players go to center ice, and the winners draw a name at random to see what player's jersey they won. Our other photog was covering the players handing over their jersey so I was shooting other action. Both of these shots were taken with the 1DX + Sigma 15mm 2.8 fisheye.

Great shots as usual. White balance, exposure.. spot on and in my experience, that isn't easy. Thanks for letting us see your work.

Excellent pics, as always. The Fisheye shots are nice. BTW, I personally blame you for my increased desire (lust) to buy a 300 2.8. Ever since I borrowed it during the game...well you know how it goes.

Thanks for having me and enjoy the offseason.

Just noticed in picture #1. What does Danault have on his skates? It's clear plastic. Some kind of foot guard?

That 300 2.8 lust thing, I'm blaming him for the same issue. Even tried one out at B&H... then the finance minister stepped in.

Yes, a lot of players, particularly ones who block a lot of shots have them.

Glad to see I'm not the only one to fall under the spell of the siren song.

Great stuff as usual. I really enjoyed the fisheye photos too. It's a nice change of pace. But don't give up total hope, the Hawks are still hanging in there! I'd like to say thanks for constantly giving us new photos to look at all season. I'm hoping you'll be back next year!

Thanks, everyone, for the comments. This year was a great year for shooting mostly because of the new lighting. While I would have been able to get a majority of the shots with the old lighting, being able to gain 3-4 stops of light made a huge difference.

The fisheye photos were nice because I didn't have to shoot through glass and could get perfect clarity and lighting. I could use this in the corners, and I may try that for the first game or two of the season when the glass is fresh. As the season wears on the glass gets worse, and I just haven't had the time to get out there before the game starts and clean off the areas where I shoot.

I still have about 5 more games to post, so I will work on getting those up in the next week.

It was great sharing with the community, and I really appreciate all of the comments and feedback. I will certainly be back again next season, and hopefully I can get some credentials with the parent club to shoot a preseason game.

And Nuke, anytime you want to shoot again, just let me know. I'm always up for shooting (as long as the wife gets some time, too!)

Fabulous images as always. ...
I definitely learned a thing or three from you this year and I think my results are because of you sharing. ..

I've yet to be a 300-borrower but I've seen enough great shots with it to know I want one!

My local team may be sold off here in the very near future (we're currently down 0-2 in the division finals) and there are no season ticket packages yet for next year so, I might come a visiting!

-im just trying. sometimes i succeed
