What, a pile of dirt. That's what it is. That's what I found today. Voles, dirty little buggers . . .

Uh, um, nice shot, well exposed and everything. I don't exactly know what to say about an unwelcome pile of dirt.

I like the arrangement. All together, they make a still life with atmosphere.

Voles in the pasture are sorta like having termites in your house. Not very welcome.
Nope, not really much one can say about a pile of dirt. That's for sure.:):D

The skeleton is totally cool, Stina! And I like your still life of the things you found. That was a really nice idea!

Love the nest, OldCrow. The bills seem very wide. Maybe they're a type of Swallow.

I found something too yesterday. I'm not sure if this is okay as they are my usual suspects, but, I was not looking for them and unexpectedly stumbled upon them: a family of Great Crested Grebes. This is the same family I followed a couple of years ago. I'm sure they recognised me as these birds usually run if you so much as look at them, but these stayed right where they were and didn't care that I approached them and came very close. They're almost full frame.

And the things you can find on a Grebe's back...
Taken a bit later a bit upstream and with different light.
It was quite funny to watch because the chicks couldn't handle the fish. Maybe it was simply to big for them. The parent tried numerous time but without success and in the end he ate it himself. :)

Thanks all. Mother robin was only about ten feet away and waiting for me to get away from the nest. They are cute but they can be messy.

I went up the garden this afternoon, and found this in the Koi pond.

Stina..that's a great "Old West" arrangement!

Terry, sorry about the voles..voles and moles ugh! I'm sure they have their place, but I prefer they go to someone else's place!

Levina, nice Grebes! Love the little ones peeking out in both!

Andy, I'm sure that duck will make short work out of and small Koi in that pond!

Nice woke all!

Thanks, Ricardo and Terry.

I have another one. This time I gathered things I have found.
I found the cow skull, drop horns, bottles and door knob (found next to what was left of an old homestead/shack) on the ranch I live on. I found the rock on the beach, it reminded me of a skull or ghost face and for some reason I have kept it.
The little bowl with Roman looking soldiers was found at my old job when the owner was digging in the ground and he let me keep it. :D

That is a pretty neat collection of finds Stina. If only they could talk, I'd bet their would be some interesting stories they could tell.:)

Nice find on the Mallard Klystron. What a great bird to have in your pond.:)

Well Oh! I must say, my dirt mound is in fact not much of a find, picture wise. I can report today though, that several of the offending mound builders were found and apprehended. I did choose not to photograph them. If I had, it would have been with my Canon 70-200 F4 lens. Thanks for looking at it though.:)

What a very beautiful find Levina. I think it is especially nice since you have been able to visit and photograph them in the past. Well done.:)

Thanks, Levina. I love your pictures! How nice to find them again and be able to get so close.

Great find, Andy. The mallard's are pretty.

Thanks, Joayne and Terry. The door knob and bowl have the stories I'd most like to hear. :)

Levina, your grebe family is outstanding. It must be even more fun to watch them in real life.

Klystron, that mallard might have a mate. Have you checked your front porch? I hear they nest in planters.
