I'm looking to add on a few more speedlights to my collection. Right now I have the Sigma 620 DG Super. I was looking at some of the cheaper units since I will just run them in slave mode off the Sigma (w/wireless trigger). Any one brand of the cheaper units better then the other?

I'm very happy with my two Yongnuo YN-560II as slave flashes - had 'em for just under three years and they're still going strong. If I had to buy something now, it would likely be the updated YN-560III since they play nice with some of the more advanced Yongnuo triggers.

A lot of people seem to be happy with Yongnuo as far as bang for your buck. I have their YN-568 flash and YN-622 RF trigger and they've been great.

Question been looking at a YN flash. With my 70D it can be a master. Will this work with the YN flashes? or will I need a trigger.

YN flashes have differing capabilities depending on the model. You'll need to be a lot more specific.

I was looking at some of the YN flashes. I'll be using a radio trigger to set the sigma off and doing optical for the rest. So, not going to have a flash setup on my camera.

ok. so, dumb triggering. all manual. how much power do you need? you could consider quality but not extremely powerful units from Metz or Nissin. personally, i still cannot make myself to go for YN :) i do hear a lot of good things about them, i bad things, too. the quality did get better though (they say)
