Had to look them up Not unlike some Wattlebird (call) here but also different Thanks Russell ![]() Thanks Richard. We always called them Lousy Jacks when i was a kid. Similar habits to the Cough's. Move through an area on the ground chasing insects and grubs etc Pippan wrote in post #19337434 I love these birds! We don't see them this far north but from about Katherine south you do. Thirty or forty in a flock and incessantly chattering. Yep there're great characters and generally pretty quiet (tame). We don't get them on the coast here where i live but very common in central and western NSW Just like a dung beetle......russellpringlephotography

It wasn't aligned perfectly and I had to do a bit of healing etc. Not the best, but passable I would think. ![]() Looks pretty bloody good to me Neal Just like a dung beetle......russellpringlephotography

We were camped at Rose Isle Station on the Darling river between Louth and Bourke for a week last year and early on morning i noticed a few Red-wing's (Crimson-wing's as we always called them) landing on a couple of dead branches before dropping onto the ground. Later that day i went for a look and found an old water pipe with a leak in it that had formed a small puddle. So you can guess where i was set up each morning at daylight........ Got some wonderful images and a huge array of birds coming to that one spot to drink and bath LOVELY shot of this beautiful parrot! Sounds like you struck gold with that leaky pipe.
