well we have had Pardalotes but Silvereye ~ Zosterops lateralis or Whiteyes as I grew up knowing them are more common and accompany the wrens along with Thornbills.
This was one amongst the wrens on a rather dreary damp day

These were another day, better light but their choice of perches was abysmal!
I took their photo as they certainly presented themselves well.

I gather whilst they are common across Australia they appear not to be present in Northern Territory

Wow, what cute little birds, and beautifully photographed too. Up here we have Yellow White-eyes and I photographed my first one of them at Bird Alley last week.

Haha, yes they should really be called Yellow White-around-the-eyes!

Terrific capture! Those are beautiful birds. I've never seen or heard of them. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Sogs for your appreciation of the little beauty and my photo

Thanks Pippan. Interesting, I looked to see ours range and nothing came up your way. Now I've found heaps on your bird.
It's lovely and typically "White-eye".
Ours are quite elusive out in the wild, moving in flocks quickly through the trees. Well that's my observation.
Here they hang about in one place for quite a while. Maybe them mingling with the other birds changes things?

Thanks Ulrike, and easy to miss too, being much the same colour as the leaves.

Lovely shots. I only just learnt that the Tas variant flies up to the ACT, and can be distinguished from our all year round inhabitants by their buff sides. They are here at the moment.

Ulrike I keep admiring this photo.
It's beautifully composed with the leaves all sitting same way and the bird sitting astride them.
Though it's not as colourful as some honeyeaters it's still an attractive one.

This is one posted in r5 forum a while back but never posted in Australian Birds as far as I can see.

An Eastern Rosella I was lucky to come across in Melbourne some time back. He flew in and had been sitting quietly to my side only 5 meters away unseen by me until I happened to twist my head and there he was staring at me! Not normal behaviour for these guys as they dont like getting close to humans or anywhere near eye level as they like to be high up in top of trees. .Not only was I extremely lucky on his distance and perspective but it was also overcast with nothing behind him to distract. Like all my christmas's had come at once on this shot ! Just wish I could score a Northern Rosella like this but to date no go (:

Thanks Clipper. Yes they generally don't hang about long.
That first one though saw several moving very slowly through the grass. They seem to have different habits ground versus trees, shrubs etc
