Probably you have a different, paler race than up here in the north. They are very common up here, and a bit drab, so not often photographed. Probably you have a different, paler race than up here in the north. This is the colour of Brown Honeyeaters up here. This one's a juvenile I happened to get a few days ago. It'll get the creamy yellow triangle behind the eye like yours and lose some of the yellowish gape when itbecomes adult. They are very common up here, and a bit drab, so not often photographed. Are you sure this isn’t a white-gaped honeyeater? Living in a beautiful part of the world!

I don't know what I was thinking. I thought something didn't look right for a Brown (which of course are a lot smaller than White-gapeds as well). Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Left home at the beginning of Feb and currently in Nth Qld so ive got a bit to catch up on. Signal is patchy at best once you get away form the major areas. Anyway, we've currently Id over 300 birds since leaving home but unfortunately haven't been able to photograph them all. Still i've got a few nice shots. I have been chasing some of our Grasswrens and have captured 4 of the 13 species so far. Hoping to get another 2 or 3 before we get home in November. Anyway here's a couple of Dusky Grasswrens from King's Canyon, NT. These little fellas live in the gorges among the rocks and spinifex welcome back Russel and what a way to announce your post. These really are beautiful.
